💙 The Gutter Report: Love Ain’t Dead After All

Yearning for Black love, finding a real chance at it.

For the longest, I’ve been yearning for Black love. That deep, grounding connection that’s bigger than a fling and stronger than the surface-level stuff. I’ve been through heartbreaks out here in Connecticut — two short-lived, public relationships that left me cold and convinced me to pour everything into my platform instead of into love.

And for a while, that was enough. Viral interviews. No Cap Tea w/ Carterr. Getting my website built. LFTG grew because my heart wasn’t tied up anywhere else. But deep down, the desire for something real never left.

That’s where Angie steps in. We matched before on BLK, but her attitude was too sharp for me to handle back then. She’s a very mean woman — blunt, fiery, carrying an edge that could cut through steel. But this time around, her effort to communicate feels different. More consistent. More real. And the same meanness that once pushed me away now does the opposite: it pulls me closer. Oddly enough, it turns me on.

💐 Summer nights, blue dress, a glow you can’t imitate.

This Sunday we’re going on our first date. Rendezvous — the pizza spot in CT that Dave Portnoy stamped as one of the best. I’ve never been, but I’m ready to see if it lives up to the hype. And for the first time, I’m finally gonna crack open a Cutwater too. A new taste, a new experience, and maybe the beginning of something bigger than both.

After all this time, it feels like I might actually have a shot at the love I’ve been yearning for.
