In collaboration with LFTG Case Review

The Gutter Justice Project is an independent justice journalism and case review initiative focused on wrongful convictions, post-conviction failures, and systemic breakdowns in the criminal legal system.

We document cases through court records, public records, investigative reporting, and firsthand accounts to bring clarity, accountability, and public awareness.

We are not a law firm.

We do not provide legal representation.

We do not guarantee outcomes.

We provide documentation, visibility, and pressure through truth.

What We Do

The Gutter Justice Project focuses on documentation, review, and public accountability in cases involving wrongful convictions and post-conviction failures.

Our work includes:

    •    Reviewing court records and case materials

    •    Identifying inconsistencies, suppressed evidence, or procedural failures

    •    Submitting FOIL and public records requests

    •    Conducting investigative interviews

    •    Publishing original justice reporting through The Gutter Report and LFTG Radio

    •    Drafting petitions and advocacy narratives when appropriate

All cases begin with intake and initial review.

Not every case proceeds beyond that stage.

How This Works

    1.    Submit a Case Review Request

Complete the case review form on this page with as much detail as possible. Every submission receives a standard advocacy case review at no cost.

    2.    Review & Path Forward

After review, cases may move forward through:

    •    Standard advocacy review (free), or

    •    Paid advocacy services when additional work is requested or required, such as expedited review, document and file assistance, or public advocacy efforts.

    3.    Paid Advocacy Options (If Requested or Approved)

If you request paid advocacy services — or if additional advocacy work is recommended after review — you’ll be directed to the appropriate options listed on our Services page.

No payment is required unless and until services are confirmed.

    4.    Advocacy Work Begins

Advocacy work begins after scope is confirmed and, when applicable, payment and required materials are received.

Note: Submitting a case review request does not require payment. Paid advocacy services are optional and only apply when additional advocacy work is requested or approved.

Justice Reporting in Action

The Gutter Justice Project documents real cases involving wrongful convictions, post-conviction failures, and systemic misconduct through original reporting, primary records, and direct interviews.

This work began with the case that set the foundation for the project.

Selected Cases:

Each case includes original justice reporting, documentation, and public-facing analysis published through The Gutter Report and LFTG Radio.

Support The Gutter Justice Project

The Gutter Justice Project exists to advocate for fairness, accountability, and truth within a system that too often overlooks the people most impacted by it. Through independent reporting, case review, and public education, we work to amplify unheard voices and push for real justice.

Your support helps fund research, legal advocacy efforts, platform maintenance, and the time-intensive work required to properly review and elevate these cases.

Every contribution — big or small — helps keep this work going.

Expedited Advocacy Support (Optional)

All case submissions through The Gutter Justice Project are reviewed free of charge.

Due to the volume of submissions, families who need immediate attention or structured advocacy support may choose to access expedited advocacy services.

These services provide media, advocacy, and campaign support only. They are not legal advice or legal representation and do not guarantee legal outcomes.
