🎤 The Gutter Report: Trag Speaks Live From the Feds

Loyalty, Lyrics & The Fight for Artistic Freedom

📍 Reporting live from the gutter, Elliott Carterr connects with Trag on a federal prison call out of Philly.

The Slow Grind of the Feds

Trag was first arrested in June 2021 on firearm possession charges connected to the case. By September 2024, federal prosecutors secured a conviction against him for two murders, racketeering, and related offenses.

Now, as he awaits sentencing, he describes the daily life inside the federal system — limited movement, staffing shortages, and bureaucratic delays that stretch out the process.

He made it clear during our call: “No weapons recovered. No DNA. No gunshot residue on the clothes they said I wore.”

The Rap Act: Words on Trial

Trag detailed how prosecutors weaponized his lyrics, framing creativity as confession. Bars became exhibits. Persona became fact.

The Rap Act (Restoring Artistic Protection) is designed to stop this practice — protecting First Amendment rights by limiting the use of lyrics as evidence in court. With nearly 100,000 signatures, the petition is gaining momentum.

🚪 A stark look at a federal cell — the reality behind the headlines.

Loyalty vs. Reality

Trag didn’t sugarcoat it. He warned the youth that “gang ain’t gang for real” — and that when you’re locked, most won’t check on your daughter, wife, or loved ones. The false promises of loyalty fade quick once the cell door closes.

Instead, he stressed building peace, supporting family, and focusing on real deeds instead of digital clout.

Clearing the Air

Addressing rumors, Trag made it clear: he doesn’t direct what gets published. He doesn’t have a phone. What you see on LFTG comes from journalism — not inmate influence.

He also saluted those who held him down: his wife, daughter Savannah, and the few who stayed solid throughout his bid. And in his own words, he highlighted 80 as his “realest and most solid friend” — someone who’s stayed true when so many others fell short.

Trag’s Place in LFTG

Beyond the headlines and legal battles, it’s important to acknowledge what Trag means to this platform. From the early days, he played a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of LFTG — offering guidance, credibility, and energy that helped define what “reporting live from the gutter” truly stands for. His influence is woven into our DNA, and the bond runs deeper than interviews or features. This is family — and no matter the circumstances, LFTG stands with him.

Final Words from Trag

Before the call clicked, Trag left us with this:

“If you gonna do anything, be great at it. Shout out to my daughter, long live Chino, long live Davy Da. Love is love.”
