According to the Advance/SILive.com’s original report, officers allegedly found a loaded Beretta PX4 Storm in Smith’s sweatshirt pocket near his Continental Place home at the Mariners Harbor Houses on March 23, 2025, around 8:55 p.m.
The criminal complaint alleged that the pistol contained one round in the chamber and eight in the magazine, and that Smith lacked a firearm license.
Smith initially faced state weapon, firearm and ammunition-possession charges. He had pleaded not guilty and was free on bail when the original article was published.

The arrest followed an earlier weapons prosecution.
